The British Council is the Data Controller of the information that you provide for your registration on the Future English Online Teacher Community website. This means that the British Council is responsible for determining how your information is collected and used. The legal basis for processing your data required for registration is agreement outlined in the British Council Terms and Conditions for use of any British Council Digital services.

The legal basis for processing the following personal data marked *optional* which you provide on a voluntary basis is your consent:

• information about your gender and age will be used to monitor effectiveness of our equality and diversity practices only for internal, anonymised reporting purposes.

• to send you information about British Council other activities, services and events available through its programmes.

• to sign you up to the news about Online Teacher Community.

You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time.

By submitting your registration, you understand that your information will be shared with the hosting provider Thinking Cap LMS, commissioned by the British Council and acting as Data Processor, for the purpose of processing your registration.

Other than for the purposes mentioned herein, your personal data will not be shared outside the British Council without your explicit permission.

In order to achieve the necessary purposes outlined above, your personal information will be securely transferred and stored in the following locations: Netherlands (data hosting); Czech Republic.

We will keep your information for as long as this is necessary for processing your registration and will review it annually from the time of collection. We will review your personal data used for direct marketing also annually from the time of collection.

You have the right to ask for a copy of the information we hold on you, and the right to ask us to correct any inaccuracies in that information.
